The Wanted single for Ice Age 4 soundtrack

The Wanted are "incredibly excited" that their song ‘Chasing the Sun’ has been chosen as the lead single on the soundtrack for the new ‘Ice Age’ film.

The Wanted are "incredibly excited" that their song ‘Chasing the Sun’ has been chosen as the lead single on the ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ soundtrack.

The British and Irish boyband announced the news yesterday (03.05.12) and couldn’t contain their happiness that their latest single will feature in the family-friendly cartoon, the fourth film in the franchise.

They tweeted: "Incredibly excited to have ‘Chasing the Sun’ be a part of the Ice Age 4 Soundtrack #TheWantedOnIceAge. Be sure to see Ice Age 4 on 13th of July #TheWantedOnIceAge. (sic)"

This tops off an exciting few months for the band – comprising of Jay McGuiness , Tom Parker, Max George, Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran – who recently revealed they are confident of continued success following the great reception to single ‘Glad You Came’ in the US.

Jay said: "You always want to do better than your last song, and we’ve always set a really high standard with ‘Glad You Came’ already. But I think we know now from the singles we’ve got in our pocket, there’s no way we’re going anywhere. We’re here to stay, and our songs are going to get better and better. I’m just bragging so hard right now."

Tom added: "I think the songs suggest about our musical growth. We’re always willing to change it up. ‘Glad You Came’ set the precedent for America, but we’ve got big songs like ‘Warzone’ in the UK which is going to be on the EP, and that’s a ballad with dubstep – something that a boy band has never done before. And we took a bit of a risk. I think everyone loved it, so we like to take risks with our music."
