Jessie J is supporting a week of celebration of British music, entitled Music is GREAT Week.

Jessie J is lending her support to Music is GREAT Week.

The ‘Price Tag’ singer is kicking off a week of celebration from May 14 which pays tribute to British music, and Jessie admits she is delighted to be a part of it.

She said: "I’m so proud of being British, my accent says it all. I think it’s very important to be proud of where you’re from, and I don’t think anywhere is like the UK.

"I think music is a perfect way to celebrate and we make it very well."

During the week of celebrations artists, bands and music fans will be offered the opportunity to take part in a number of events, which will be announced via Facebook site www.facebook.com/MusicisGREATBritain.

As part of the campaign a DVD is being released to commemorate some of the best British live music acts throughout history.

All profits from the compilation will go to charity Save the Children and Jude Bridge, director of Marketing and Communications said: "We are very proud to be partnering with Music is GREAT. For each copy sold, Save the Children will receive all the net profits."
