Tinie Tempah going back to basics

Tinie Tempah says he is going "back to basics" with a more "raw, underground" sound on his next album.

Tinie Tempah is going "back to basics" on his new album.

The ‘Pass Out’ hitmaker has promised the record, which is provisionally titled ‘Demonstration’, will have a more "raw, indie, underground" sound than his 2010 debut ‘Disc-Overy’, and admitted he is particularly excited by a collaboration with Dizzee Rascal.

He said: "I’ve got something on there with Dizzee Rascal, which is amazing. I’ve been listening to Dizzee since I was 12years old so that means a lot to me. I’m really, really excited about that.

"It’s very hard, it’s very grimey. It’s the complete opposite of what people would think we were gunning for. When I played the instrumental to Dizzee he was like, ‘Thank god you didn’t try and get me on something that you want to make a big hit.’

"It’s very indie and underground and raw. I’m just taking it back to the basics."

Tinie also revealed he has teamed up with Calvin Harris for a big dance track after being thrilled by the response to his 2010 collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’.

He added to Capital FM: "I think it was really nice the magic that ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ created, it opened up a different side to my music and took me to places that I never, never thought I’d be with the Swedish House Mafia.

"So I kind of wanted to replicate that excitement again but even bigger and even better."
