Whitney Houston to be buried next to father

Whitney Houston will be buried next to her father, John Houston, on Saturday (18.02.12) at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

Whitney Houston will be buried next to her father.

The 48-year-old singer – who was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room last Saturday (11.02.12) – will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey, on Saturday (18.02.12), in the plot next to her late dad, John Houston.

Sources claim it was always Whitney’s wish for her final resting place to be next to her father – who died of heart disease in 2003 – and the news was confirmed by her official death certificate.

The certificate was released yesterday (15.02.12) and the cause of her passing is listed as "deferred", pending further investigation with the toxicology results expected in a few weeks.

Whitney’s occupation is listed as "entertainer" and her next of kin is listed as her 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.

The ‘I Will Always Love You’ hitmaker was found unconscious and unresponsive in the bathtub of her fourth-floor suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

While it was initially thought she had drowned, medics said there wasn’t enough water in her lungs for this to have happened.

It is now thought Whitney – who had a history of drink and drug abuse – passed out in the bath following a 48-hour binge on alcohol and prescription drugs before her head became submerged under the water.

Half a dozen bottles of prescription drugs including Lorazepam, Valium and Xanax – used as sleeping aids, relaxants and to ease anxiety – are said to have been found in the suite.
