Katy Perry’s catty new scent

First there was Purr and now Meow! is in stores.

The second feline-themed fragrance from pop star Katy Perry, Meow!, a companion piece to her fragrance debut Purr, is now exclusively available at Nordstrom, reports Basenotes.net.

Perry created the perfume while on her California Dreams world tour promoting her record-breaking platinum-selling second album, Teenage Dream.

“’Meow!’ is my second baby in the fragrance world," Perry wrote on her website. "I created it during my California Dreams Tour, and I can’t wait for people to be able to experience my intriguing, amusing, candy-land like fantasy whenever they spritz it! We have A LOT of fun on tour so there’s a lot of fun infused in this bottle! ‘Meow!’ It’s simply the cat’s meow!"

Launched in partnership with Gigantic Parfums, the scent is described as commanding “a soft sexuality appropriate for use during any time of day. Its signature comes from a pairing of honeysuckle and pear with the backdrop of creamy vanilla, musk and amber."

Meow! was developed by Givaudan perfumers, and the bottle design follows its Purr predecessor. Inspired by vintage milk bottles, Perry wanted the bottle to be opaque and pale pink. The fragrance is available in 50 and 100 ml eau de parfum for $45 to $65.

This week, the singer was nominated for two Grammy awards; record of the year and best pop solo performance for her hit song Firework; the awards will take place on February 12, 2012.
