New youthful fragrance and face for Calvin Klein

Teenage model stars in new Sheer Beauty campaign.

Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld has been chosen as the face of Calvin Klein’s newest fragrance, Sheer Beauty, a youthful update of his popular 2010 Beauty fragrance, reports Vogue.

While the original Beauty fragrance was fronted by 35-year-old German actress-model Diane Kruger, the new Sheer Beauty has recruited 16-year-old Groeneveld as brand ambassador. The teenage model – who has also worked in campaigns for Miu Miu, Givenchy, CK One, Louis Vuitton and Versace – made her modeling debut during the fall-winter 2010 runway season in Milan.

Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the new campaign has a soft and almost ephemeral quality, with Groeneveld shot in black and white and superimposed with a bottle of the perfume in its soft pink color. The ad is meant to show the "essence of a young woman bursting with femininity, confidence and sensuality."

The new fragrance is being introduced for the spring-summer 2012 season. Where the original Beauty had a timeless elegance, the updated version skews younger with a floral-fruity composition. The fragrance opens with notes of bergamot, red berries and peach Bellini, and has heart notes of flowers of peony, pink lily and jasmine, over velvety base notes of sandalwood, musk and vanilla blossom.

The eau de toilette will be available in three sizes: 30, 50 and 100 mL, beginning in January.
