Details surface about Lady Gaga’s unusual perfume

Pop star continues to push envelope with her Monster fragrance.

Pop star Lady Gaga’s unusual new perfume – thought to be called Monster – will not smell like blood and semen as the early rumors had suggested, but will be created from the molecular structures of the two bodily fluids, reports the Daily Mail.

When the pop star signed the agreement in September 2010, perfumer Coty Beauty, who is manufacturing the fragrance for the boundary-pushing star, was tasked with creating a scent that incorporates not only semen, but also the pop star’s own blood: "It was taken out of my own blood sample so it’s a sense of having me on your skin," explained Gaga.

When word of the arrangement got out, it was initially assumed that the very unlikely fragrance would actually smell like the bodily fluids. Now the singer has stepped forward to clarify that this is not exactly the case: "I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumors] came from."

"That is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like that," confirmed the singer, who went on to add: "Actually the perfume smells like an expensive hooker."

She also offered a few details as to why she chose such an unusual inspiration for a fragrance, when most celebrity perfumes are based on musks, florals or other familiar perfume ingredients. "You get the after-feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is primal," she said.
