Isabel Marant designs Gap charity T

French designer creates signature (Product) RED T-shirt to help raise money for global AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria fund.

French fashion designer Isabel Marant has partnered with American retail chain the Gap to contribute a signature T-shirt for their charitable (Product) RED campaign raising money for AIDS victims in Africa, reports Vogue.

The high-profile designer has created a slouchy heather grey T-shirt in her iconic style. The simple boy-cut shirt is brought to life with splashes of color, as overlapping circles of green, yellow, red and lilac blot the heather grey T.

The T-shirt – which retails for $34.95 – is available in U.S. stores beginning tomorrow (November 25) and internationally from November 28. Half of all profits will go towards the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

"I am very thrilled that Gap has given me the opportunity to contribute to such an important cause," said Marant. "This is one of those rare occasions when fashion can do something to help make the world a slightly better place. I am more than honored to follow in the steps of the impressive collaborators who have worked on the RED project before me."

Founded by U2 frontman Bono and American activist Bobby Shriver, (Product) RED is an independent brand licensed to companies in order to raise public awareness and money for the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Through partnerships with major companies like Nike, Converse, Apple, Starbucks and American Express, the RED project has raised about $170 million since its founding in 2006.
