Will.i.am collaborates with Mick Jagger and J. Lo

Hip hop star will.i.am, member of the Black Eyed Peas, has managed to convince two major artists to feature on his upcoming solo album, #willpower, reports Rolling Stone magazine.

The musician believed it would be impossible to get Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, his idol, on his album, as well as Latin artist Jennifer Lopez, but with the help of Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine, it all came together.

“You play your music and the first thing someone says, ‘Who’s gonna be on it?’ So I think of the hardest thing ever," will.iam said. “And it happened, Mick Jagger. I just wanted to throw something out there that I thought could never be possible so they would stop asking me.”

Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez perform on the lead single T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever), which will.i.am debuted last night (November 20) with Lopez at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles. The track is available for listening on his website.

“I collaborate in the Peas all the time, but this is the first time I’ve ever done big collaborations with big-name artists on my solo projects," said will.iam. "So it means a lot that J. Lo’s even considered performing with me, that’s dope. She’s great."
