A Christmas gift from Coldplay

Coldplay will give a free concert next month in UK.

British Coldplay fans will receive a Christmas present from the group: an intimate Christmas gig at Dingwalls nighclub in London.

The British band has announced on its website that there will be a free concert at Dingwalls nightclub. Back in 1998 they played the club, and the money earned that night helped pay for the recording of the band’s first release, The Safety EP.

“We’re very pleased to announce that Coldplay will perform a special Christmas show at London’s Dingwalls venue for BBC Radio 2 In Concert, which will be broadcast on Thursday, 15 December (having been recorded a few days earlier),” reads the announcement.

“The show will be broadcast on Radio 2, which you can listen to online worldwide. The performance will also be filmed and shown live via the Red Button and on the Radio 2 site, where it will be available to watch until 22 December.”

The venue accommodates 500 people, and free tickets are being given away via bbc.co.uk/radio2 from November 24 to 28.
