Prince cancels Saskatoon show

Musician cancels December 11 concert at Credit Union Centre.

For Saskatonians who had difficulty believing an artist of Prince’s caliber would be playing their prairie city of 200,000, it turns out they were correct.

The Let’s Go Crazy singer cancelled his December 11 gig at the Credit Union Centre only two weeks after announcing his Welcome 2 Canada tour.

The news was announced last Monday, November 14, when officials from the amphitheater confirmed that the show would not take place, and the news was announced on the Ticketmaster website.

According to Scott Ford, director of events and marketing at Credit Union Centre, the reason for the concert cancellation was that Prince had a scheduling conflict. Ticketholders will be reimbursed at the point of purchase.
