Florence and the Machine release Ceremonials

British band launches newest album on Halloween.

Two years after the release of their debut album Lungs, Florence and the Machine return with their follow up record Ceremonials, released today.

Speaking about the album’s release, lead singer Florence Welch posted a statement on the band’s website: “I’m so excited for the album to be out today. Can’t wait for you all to hear it and can’t wait to get out there and start playing it live to you all soon!!! xx.”

The album features lead single Shake It Out and comes in a standard 12-song version and a deluxe digital and CD 20-track version that features additional songs and demo and acoustic numbers.

Numerous producers wanted to work with her but Welch rejected the offers because she wanted Ceremonials to be a better version of Lungs with a "more dark, more heavy, bigger drum sounds, bigger bass, but with more of a whole sound.”

Florence and the Machine are scheduled to appear on Saturday Night Live alongside Jason Segel on November 19, according to Consequence of Sound.
