Pop star Lady Gaga will headline a holiday concert in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on December 9, reports MTV.
Gaga will be joined at the 2011 Jingle Ball by fellow musicians Demi Lovato, Pitbull, LMFAO, David Guetta, and Kelly Clarkson. Gym Class Heroes, Foster the People and newcomers Hot Chelle Rae will also perform for the crowds in December.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has declared December 9 as Jingle Ball Day in the city. Tickets for the show, which is hosted by NYC radio station Z100, go on sale November 1. A portion of the proceeds from the show will go towards the national anti-bullying charity STOMP Out Bullying.
"To be selected as the Z100’s Jingle Ball 2011 charity is truly an honor," said charity founder and CEO Ross Ellis. "Not only is this a wonderful way to raise funds, but it raises awareness that bullying is wrong, the suicides are senseless, and all forms of bullying, hatred, cruelty and homophobia must end."
