Quebec City ranks sixth in world

Travel magazine ranks Quebec capital as sixth best city in world.

Quebec City remains a favorite among tourists, ranking number one in Canada, third in North America and sixth in the world in the as chosen by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Tying for sixth place worldwide with Santa Fe, New Mexico, the city is up four places over last year, when it took tenth place globally. The city took fifth place in North America last year, and second place in Canada – after losing to Vancouver, British Columbia – making this Quebec City’s best year to date.

The final tallies are decided by the magazine readers: over eight million votes were cast by almost 30,000 subscribers. According to Sylvie Walter of Quebec City Tourism, visitors especially appreciated the fusion of classical and contemporary offered by the city.

"These awards reflect the combined opinions of 28,876 Conde Nast Traveler readers rating the cities, islands, and hotels they visited in the past year, and the airlines and cruise ships they traveled with," explains the publication.
