Free Coldplay concert to be webcast

British band will take part in Unstaged online concert series.

In August 2010, for the launch of their album The Suburbs, Montreal-based band Arcade Fire streamed a live webcast of their Madison Square Garden concert in New York City as part of American Express’s Unstaged concert series, reports Consequence of Sound.

A few months later, the band won for album of the year at the Grammy Awards.

On October 26, two days after the launch of their new album Xyloto Mylo, Coldplay will also stream a live concert from Madrid, Spain. The show will be webcast at 4:00 pm ET at Coldplay’s VEVO channel.

Filmmaker Anton Corbijn (The American) continues the series’ tradition of pairing musical artists with directors by filming the concert. No stranger to the music scene, Corbijn directed the film Control about the life of Ian Curtis, legendary singer of Joy Division, and has worked with such bands as Depeche Mode and U2.
