Celebrities pay tribute to Steve Jobs

Apple co-founder died yesterday at the age of 56.

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs died yesterday evening (October 5) at the age of 56 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Only a few minutes after the announcement of his death, there was an outpouring of grief from the creative community.

Paris Hilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eva Longoria, Jared Followill (Kings of Leon), Kylie Minogue and many others expressed their sadness on social media networks, most likely using devices that Jobs helped invent.

The man behind the success of the iPod, iPhone and iPad drew respect. Paris Hilton wrote: “So sad to hear about Steve Jobs. He was a genius and one of the most innovative people on earth. He changed the world in so many ways.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger stated: “Steve lived the California Dream every day of his life and he changed the world and inspired all of us.”

Actress Eva Longoria added: “My heart goes out for the family of Steve Jobs. What an inspiration he was to us all and a creative visionary for the world.”

Steve Jobs’ family issued a statement minutes after his death was announced: “Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family. In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. ..We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief.”

Jobs is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laurene, and four children, including one from a prior relationship.
