Black Eyed Peas drop out of Michael Jackson tribute

Hip hop group will not take part in Michael Forever this weekend.

Only three days before they were scheduled to perform, the Black Eyed Peas have dropped out of the Michael Forever tribute concert in honor of Michael Jackson, reports the BBC.

Scheduled to take the stage this weekend in Cardiff, Wales, event organizers said the band was forced to pull out due to "unavoidable circumstances."

Still on the bill are a number of notable acts, including Michael’s sister La Toya, Christina Aguilera, Alien Ant Farm, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Pixie Lott, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, Craig David, and Smokey Robinson are also confirmed to take part. R&B star Beyoncé will appear via satellite.

"It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the ‘Michael Forever’ bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth-shattering artists," said Chris Hunt, the chief executive officer of Global Live Events.

Actor Jamie Foxx will co-host the event on Saturday (October 8), along with BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton. Funds from the ticket sales will go towards three separate charities, including AIDS Project Los Angeles.
