Tik Tok pop singer Kesha, 24, has followed in the footsteps of several other stars enjoying multiple endorsement deals by collaborating with Casio to design a line of watches, reports Coco Perez.
The star is currently promoting her Baby-G line of Casio with ads that show the singer in more natural-looking make-up than is typical. She talked about her connection to the company.
“I’ve been designing and making my own clothes since I was young, and, as an artist, I design all of my stage costumes,” said the singer. “This experience with Casio is so exciting because it’s my first collaboration as a designer and it’s extra meaningful because I wrote my first single ‘Tik Tok’ on a Casio keyboard.”
She went on to explain the symbolism of her watch designs. “In creating my red, white and blue watch, I was obviously inspired by the American flag because it’s a recurring theme in my aesthetic but also represents freedom of speech, a right I passionately exercise in my life and in my music.”
The Animal songwriter added, “Leopard print is another recurring theme in my look, which I like to wear because it brings out my animal inside. I hope when people wear my watches they’re reminded to express themselves always and never lose the animal inside themselves.”
Both Casio styles designed by Kesha are waterproof and shock-resistant. The gold-toned leopard-print model is priced at $120, and the American flag model is priced at $99.
