Band member will.i.am took to Twitter to assure fans that the Black Eyed Peas are not splitting up, after rapper Kanye West mistakenly bid them farewell during a concert last Friday (September 16).
While performing his hit song, All of the Lights, at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, West shouted to the crowd: "Rest in peace to the Black Eyed Peas. You’re gonna be missed."
The statement left fans confused, as the Peas had previously assured the public that their upcoming hiatus would not be permanent.
"The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating," will.i.am wrote in July.
While there has not been any further official statement from the group, rapper will.i.am jumped on Twitter this Sunday (September 18) to confirm the band was just taking a break – not breaking up: "maybe @kanyewest was stating the fact we will take a rest for a little bit… but we the @bep will never die…never…impossible," wrote the hip hop star.
