Mimes silently invade Montreal

Quebec’s mime festival is now underway.

The fifth annual Rencontres internationales du mime de Montréal (Montreal International Mime Conference) kicked off yesterday (September 19), bringing together seven mime companies from across North America and Europe.

The festival, which runs until October 1, features a huge array of mime-related events. More than just performances, RIMM5 includes meetings, conferences, master classes and discussions.

Performers from North America and Europe are sure to delight. Shows run between 30 and 90 minutes, beginning each evening at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. respectively.

Tickets are $16 for an 8 p.m. show and $29 for a 10 p.m. show, or can be purchased in packages: two shows – one from the 8 p.m. slot and one from the 10 p.m. slow – can be purchased together for $37, a three-performance passport costs $65, and a five-performance passport costs $100. A full festival pass – granting admission to all shows and events – can be purchased for $120.
