Adele to take her time recording next album

Singer-songwriter in no rush to return to studio.

British singer-songwriter Adele plans to take some time off before returning to the studio to record the follow-up to her hugely successful sophomore album, 21, released earlier this year.

"I want to give her a little bit of time off and then hopefully we’ll start looking at some stuff in November just to get into looking to make music again rather than any specific reason, dates or when it’s coming or anything," her manager Jonathan Dickens told Music Week.

"It will come when it’s right and she’s a great judge of that, I’m a good judge of that, and ultimately the label is not a label where we are having to fight numbers and figures and quarterly results."

Since its release in January, 21 has seen record-breaking sales, charting at number one in 17 countries, including the U.K., U.S. and Canada. The hit album has already been certified ten-times platinum in the U.K., three-times platinum in the U.S. and five-times platinum in Canada.

Despite the success, Dickens insists that there is no pressure on Adele to churn out her next great hit: "We haven’t even had a discussion about album three at this stage. And it will come when it’s right. It’s as simple as that," he concluded.
