New romance for Anne Hathaway?

Love and Other Drugs star offered role in new romantic comedy.

American actress Anne Hathaway, 28, has reportedly been offered the lead role in a new untitled romantic comedy written by 30 Rock TV writer-producer Kay Cannon, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film tells the story of a career woman who wants to break her losing streak in terms of romantic relationships, since her job always seems to take priority. Director Peter Sollet (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) is rumored to be in talks to direct the project.

While negotiations are underway, Anne Hathaway is wrapping up her role as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman alongside Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan’s final installment of the Batman trilogy, due in theaters July 20, 2012.

This summer, Hathaway starred in the flop One Day. There are rumors that she may play Fantine in the latest film adaptation of Les Misérables starring Hugh Jackman. The busy actress has also committed to the lead role to play her idol in the Judy Garland biopic, Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland, due out in 2013.
