Ashley Greene, best-known for her role as Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga, will star in Olivia Twisted, reports Variety.
This modern-day update of Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist has the main character represented by a teenage female, who finds herself in the middle of a gang war.
The Dickens tale has been repeatedly adapted for the screen, most famously David Lean’s musical Oliver! in 1948, and more recently for Disney’s animated version Oliver and Company in 1988.
Greene recently reprised her vampire role for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2, scheduled for November 18, 2011 and November 16, 2012 respectively, marking the grand finale to the vampire romance franchise.
The 24-year-old actress is also awaiting release dates for comedy LOL with Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus, and Butter with Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde.
