Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car yesterday afternoon (September 7) while jogging in Santa Monica, reports People.
An 84-year-old female driver was charged for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
A representative for the Walk the Line actress confirmed the news, and explained that she was not seriously injured, and was “resting comfortably at home.”
The star of Legally Blonde is on the cover of the October issue of Marie Claire. In an interview, she talks about her divorce from actor Ryan Philippe, and her marriage to agent Jim Toth this past March.
“I was hard on myself when I got divorced. Somebody close to me once said, ‘Oh, no man will ever accept your children.’ And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life.”
“And until I got remarried, I don’t think I realized how stressed I was,” she told the magazine. “I feel so much relief. I don’t think I realized how stressed I was being a single parent. It was really, really stressful. It’s not easy on anybody. It’s really traumatic.”
