Van Halen’s new album to drop soon?

Fan website reports album could be finished by end of month.

Good news for Van Halen fans anxiously awaiting their next album: the band has finished mixing the as-yet-untitled LP and will be moving on to the mastering process next, according to unofficial fansite VHND.com.

Rumors about a mixing delay were false, reports the source. Mixing began in July and finished about three weeks ago. The band is will begin mastering the album within the next few weeks.

Mastering usually requires only a few weeks, so the entire album should be completed by the end of September, according to the site’s author. There is still no official word on an expected release date.

The long-awaited album will be the band’s 12th album and is a follow-up to 1998’s Van Halen III. It also marks singer David Lee Roth’s return to the band.

"It’s the killing side of Van Halen at the top of their game again with Diamond Dave, and the band on fire," producer Ross Hogarth told Ultimate Classic Rock.
