California heavy metal rockers Metallica and New York rocker Lou Reed have unveiled the questionable cover art for their debut collaboration, Lulu, reports Gibson.
The cover depicts the upper torso of an armless female mannequin with lifelike face and hair, with the title scrawled in bloody handwriting across the image.
According to the ‘Loutallica’ website, “’Lulu’ was inspired by German expressionist writer Frank Wedekind’s plays Earth Spirit and Pandora’s Box, which tell a story of a young abused dancer’s life and relationships, and are now collectively known as the Lulu Plays.”
Available November 1, Lulu was produced by Lou Reed, Metallica, Hal Willner, and Greg Fidelman.
