Coldplay to give web concert

Live on Letterman will stream performance on September 20.

On Septebmer 20, alt rockers Coldplay will perform a live, streaming concert for fans on the Live on Letterman webcast.

Fans can watch the performance live on the CBS website beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, or catch up with the show later with on-demand streaming. The show will also play on Vevo, Radio.com and selected CBS radio stations, and will be broadcast on the JumboTron in New York City’s Times Square.

Later that same night, the Grammy award-winning band will appear on the Late Show with David Letterman between 11:35 p.m. and 12:37 a.m. Eastern.

Coldplay is gearing up to release its fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, on October 24. The new LP will be available in a special limited edition Pop-Up Album version, which includes a hardcover pop-up book of graffiti art designed by David A. Carter, exclusive content, and both a vinyl and CD version of the album.

Mylo Xyloto is a follow-up to the best-selling 2008 LP Viva La Vida, which peaked at number one in 36 countries, including the Billboard Hot 100.
