Huge jazz festival in Chicago

33rd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival runs September 1 to 4.

This Labor Day weekend, we recommend the destination of Chicago. The great American city will be hosting its 33rd annual jazz festival from September 1 to 4, reports Canoe Travel.

Produced by the City of Chicago and programmed by the Jazz Institute of Chicago, the festival integrates both world-famous and local artists, providing a wide variety of jazz music.

The longest running free jazz festival will host, among others, Artist-in-Residence, Orbert Davis, headliners Saxophone Summit featuring Joe Lovano, David Liebman and Ravi Coltrane, vocalist Cassandra Wilson, and trumpeter Roy Hargrove.

A variety of artists will be attending, and this year, the festival is followed by the 40th anniversary concert for the musical variety show Soul Train.

The city has plenty to offer, and visitors can take advantage of the jazz festival as an opportunity to explore the many attractions of the historic American city.
