Stella McCartney picks flowers for perfume

Limited edition Print collection inspired by summer 2011 collection.

In September, British designer Stella McCartney will launch a new limited edition collection of perfume flacon designs called Print, which carry her signature floral scent Stella, reports Vogue .

The Stella McCartney Print collection comprises her original rose-inspired Stella fragrance, presented in three, limited-edition eau de parfum flacons.

The three motifs are described as modern interpretations of vintage botanical prints. Each 30ml glass prism bottle is decorated with a floral print taken from her 2011 spring collection.

The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier, who has helped create many perfumes for a variety of designers from Armani to Yves Saint Laurent.

In 2003, McCartney launched the traditional floral Stella fragrance, featuring top notes of rose oil, peony and a touch of fresh tangerine, a rose heart, and deep amber base note.

“I showed an old-time picture of a rose to a designer," she said. "Just imagine a luxurious flower, heavy and beautiful; its petals fall off just by your gentle touch. I would love to keep this frail beauty, this moment of perfection in the perfume.”

Currently available in Stella McCartney boutiques across Europe and in Boots stores throughout the UK, the Print collection should reach North America this fall, priced around $55.
