DKNY launches most expensive perfume in the world

$1 million price tag for a good cause.

American fashion house DKNY has unveiled a million dollar bottle of Golden Delicious perfume in partnership with Beverly Hills jeweler Martin Katz, reports Vogue France.

For this new project, DKNY has partnered with the jeweler to create a unique fund-raising luxury version of their latest fragrance, Golden Delicious.

The composition of the perfume remaining the same – ‘Golden delices’ apple accompanied by orange blossom and Mirabelle plum, with a floral heart of white roses, Casablanca lilies, lily of the valley and vanilla orchid, while base notes include musk followed by a sensual woody trail of sandalwood and teak.

The packaging, however, has changed from a glass flacon with a gold-colored metal cap, to a 14-carat yellow and white gold flacon adorned with almost 3,000 precious stones from all over the world.

The apple-shaped golden cap is a tribute to New York City, with a skyline designed from hundreds of diamonds.The apple shape has been placed on a transparent sphere showing six continents also represented by gemstones.

The net profits from this one-of-a-kind perfume bottle will be donated to the organization Action Against Hunger, global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. Recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, ACF runs life-saving programs in over 40 countries benefitting some five million people each year.
