Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jessica Alba are among the confirmed cast for upcoming 3D animated film Escape from Planet Earth, reports Deadline.
The trio will be joined by Rob Corddry, James Gandolfini and Craig Robinson on the Cal Brunker-directed feature. Brunker is best known for his work on Despicable Me, 9 and Horton Hears a Who!
Fraser plays esteemed alien astronaut Scorch Supernova on the planet Baab – where inhabitants are little blue men. A dashing hero, Scorch pulls off daring feats of rescue with the aid of his rule-abiding brother Gary, played by Corddry.
When his boss Lena (Alba) tells Scorch of an SOS coming from a dangerous planet, the astronaut rushes off into peril, falling into the trap of the evil Shanker (Gandolfini). With Scorch out of commission, timid Gary must step up and save the planet, as well as his brother, his wife (Parker) and their son, Kip.
Produced by The Weinstein Company and Rainmaker Entertainment, Escape from Planet Earth is currently in full production and is expected to hit theaters next year.
