New Music August 2

Arcade Fire release deluxe edition of The Suburbs.

Still in the midst of a summer lull, the most notable new music release is actually a re-release, as indie rockers Arcade Fire debut the deluxe version of their award-winning album The Suburbs.

Along with the original LP, the deluxe edition also includes two new songs, an 80-page booklet, and a DVD containing the music video for the album’s title track and the Spike Jonze-directed short film Scenes From the Suburbs – described by frontman Win Butler as "a science-fiction B-movie companion piece for the record."

The original album was released exactly one year ago and went on to win album of the year at both the Grammy and Juno Awards.

Also out this week: 13-year-old, YouTube sensation Greyson Chance releases his debut album, Hold on ‘Til the Night; Sky Full of Holes, the fifth studio album from power pop band Fountains of Wayne, is released in North America; singer-songwriter Richard Buckner releases Our Blood; blues musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd launches How I Go; and Keb Mo releases his jazzy new album, The Reflection.
