Metallica plan exclusive 30th anniversary shows

The exalted metalheads will treat fan club members to exclusive sets for just $6.

It’s been three decades since Metallica (literally) roared into the music scene – and the band has revealed it will mark the occasion with a string of shows planned especially for its Met Club fan club, according to Billboard.com.

A recent post on the group’s website read: "Thirty years of Metallica… can you believe it? We think it’s cause for a major celebration!"

The iconic hard-rockers will play the Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9 and 10. Members of Metallica’s fan club can purchase a four-pack of tickets (one for each show) for $19.81 or single show for just $6.00 each, using an exclusive reservation system that opens on August 8.

"These unique shows will include special guests and events, rare songs, varied set lists, odds and ends, and all the nutty stuff you expect from Metallica… fun for the entire family!" the band wrote.

Metallica is said to be in the planning stages of a new album with legendary producer Rick Rubin. In June, Rubin told Billboard that he’d “had a meeting with Lars (Ulrich) in San Francisco… to explore what the focus was going to be this time around."
