Two new singles from Björk

Icelandic performer unveils 2 tracks from Biophilia.

Experimental Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk is releasing the first two singles from her massive Biophilia project, reports Clash Music.

Biophilia is an ambitious multimedia project that includes a ten-track album, smartphone apps that combine music and visuals in an interactive setting, live shows, a 90-minute documentary and a website that acts as a central hub of information.

Material from the new album made its debut at the Manchester International Festival, where the singer has been performing a series of sold-out – and controversial – shows.

Now fans who were unable to get tickets can get their first glimpse at the latest wonders that have emerged from the mind of the quirky singer. Two singles – Cosmology and Crystalline – are both available through iTunes, alongside the first Biophilia apps for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Björk will begin taking Biophilia pre-orders on August 12 and the studio album is expected to hit store shelves on September 27.
