The new single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie is now officially streaming online, reports Clash Music.
Originally intended for release over the weekend, the band was forced to unveil the single early due to a number of leaks. Now streaming through SoundCloud, the song features a driving, syncopated drum beat and plenty of cowbell.
The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie is the debut single off the band’s upcoming album, I’m With You, due out August 30.
In the long wait since their last album – 2006’s Stadium Arcadium – the band has undergone some significant changes. Most notably, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has joined the band, bringing a new element to the group.
"Josh has never really had a band he was part of… he came in with sort of a lifetime of music… a real reservoir of chords and ideas… and now he has a place for it," frontman Anthony Kiedis told KROQ radio station.
