Viktor & Rolf set off new Flowerbomb

Limited edition La Vie en Rose 2011 offers a summertime floral explosion.

Originally launched in 2009 as a light and playful version of their signature scent, Flowerbomb, this year, Amsterdam-based fashion house Viktor & Rolf has introduced a new updated summer edition – Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose 2011.

The fragrance still boasts a ‘floral explosion,’ but its composition has been updated with invigorating fruity and spicy notes for summertime.

Opening with sparkling notes of bergamot, mandarin and pink pepper, the perfume develops with rich heart notes of rose, lily of the valley, red fruits, raspberries and candied almonds. Trailing warm base notes include patchouli, amber and cashmere wood.

Designed by Fabien Baron, the signature transparent pink glass bottle resembles a highly-feminized hand grenade – both pretty and lethal. The box features a handwritten dedication from its creators.

Viktor & Rolf’s first fragrance, Flowerbomb, was released in 2005 in collaboration with L’Oreal. Several variations of the fragrance and packaging have been released since, including a lighter summer version, Flowerbomb Extreme, and Petite Flowerbomb, a travel-size version released 2009.

Viktor & Rolf state it is “all about the power of transformation. The power of every individual to turn anything into something positive.”

Available at Holt Renfrew and select Bay stores, the 50 ml Eau de Toilette is priced at $125.
