Courteney Cox shares beauty secrets

Scream star becomes beauty blogger.

Cougar Town actress Courteney Cox has joined the writing staff of xoJane.com – a new beauty website from former Jane and Sassy founding editor Jane Pratt, reports People.

"Ever since I met Courteney at an Italian restaurant in Laurel Canyon 15 years ago and she filled in my eyebrows at the dinner table with a No. 2 charcoal art pencil from her bag (which works brilliantly for any coloring, by the way), I’ve been getting all my best home and beauty tips from this girl. Now she’s going to be giving them to you," Pratt writes in introduction.

The Scream star is now the site’s designated home editor, sharing beauty and lifestyle tips and tricks through periodic blog posts. In her inaugural entry, she reveals two of her favorite beauty products.

The first is the drugstore hair color treatment Clairol Natural Instincts Brass-Free for Brunettes, which Cox says works well for "dark-haired girls who don’t like red hues coming through." The dye lasts for about 28 days and costs only $9 a box.

From affordable to more indulgent, Cox also promotes Edward Bess Makeup, specially recommending the Ultra-Luminous Eye Shadow ($30) and Sheer Satin Compact Cream ($60).

The former Friends star is only the most recent in a string of celebrities using the Internet to share their beauty secrets. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow (Country Strong, Iron Man 2) has her own weekly newsletter available through GOOP.com, while reality star Lauren Conrad (The Hills) has created thebeautydepartment.com to share information on the latest hair and makeup products.
