Beaches International Jazz Festival in Toronto

Toronto jazz festival starts July 15.

Toronto’s Beaches International Jazz Festival is gearing up for its 23rd year with a staggering array of exhibits, performances and musical styles.

This year, opening night begins July 15 at 6 pm in Woodbine Park. The evening’s concerts feature Jamaican-Canadian singer The Mighty Pope, Canadian rock singer-songwriter Carole Pope, and finishes off with the Latin song stylings of Luis Mario Ochoa & Cimarrón.

"With over two hundred and fifty applications submitted, we never have enough performance spots to address the many fine musicians looking to sound off," explains the official website.

Different stages will offer a variety of genres including jazz, latin, big band along with free workshops from vocal jazz and latin percussion to sing dance and Second City comedy improve.

The festival begins July 15 and runs through until July 24. Events will be taking place at several parks along Toronto’s waterfront and most events are offered free-of-charge.
