Noel Gallagher announces 2 solo albums

Musician also speaks about split from Oasis.

Noel Gallagher, former lead guitarist and principal songwriter for English rock band Oasis, finally revealed details today (July 6) about his long-awaited solo debut – and also gave some insight into his decision to leave the band, reports NY Daily News.

Gallagher, who had been tight-lipped about his solo career up to this point, told reporters that he is currently planning to release two solo albums.

The first, High Flying Birds, is due out on October 17. The second, as-yet-untitled album will come out in 2012, and was described by Gallagher as "more out there."

The singer-songwriter also shared his feelings on his 2009 split from Oasis, following a fight with his brother Liam: "I hadn’t had enough of Oasis, I had had enough of Liam," he said.

"He was quite violent… and he nearly took my face off… I was like, you know what? I’m f—— out of here."

Gallagher told reporters that he plans to also perform Oasis songs during an upcoming tour to promote High Flying Birds.

"I’m proud of them and of what they mean to people. I’ll never do a gig without playing them, they’re like drugs to me," he revealed.
