Will and Kate’s sojourn of la belle province

Prince William and Kate Middleton departed Quebec Saturday night after a day and a half of thoughtfully-planned activities.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared to thouroughly enjoy their visit to the predominantly French-speaking province on Saturday (July 7)  @font-face {

The royal couple’s first order of business was a tour of the neonatal and oncology units at Sainte-Justice Hospital in Montreal, where they met and exchanged warm wishes with patients and their families.

From there, they attended a hands-on workshop at the Culinary Institute of Tourism and Hotels, then departed the city in the evening, aboard the Canadian warship HMCS Montreal, heading to Quebec City.

Upon arriving in the capital city, the young Prince William gave a short speech entirely in French, thanking Quebec for its "patience with my accent" and vowing to return in the future.

Their final stops in the province included Maison Dauphine, Quebec’s City Hall, and celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the founding of Lévis. The Royal Tour next took the pair to Prince Edward Island.

By the end of their tour – which concludes July 8 – the royal couple will also visit the Northwest Territories and Alberta.

As always, Kate Middleton failed to disappoint with her many lovely outfits. It is reported that the Duchess had packed more than 40 royal outfits for this tour.
