DiCaprio and Beyoncé paired for A Star is Born?

Inception star rumored to be in talks with director Clint Eastwood.

Clint Eastwood, who is currently directing Leonardo DiCaprio in his role as FBI founder in the film J. Edgar, has been chatting with his star about his next project, a remake of the musical A Star is Born, reports Deadline.

Eastwood is producing and directing the film through his company Malpaso, and is hoping that DiCaprio will join his female star pop singer Beyoncé. Although names like Will Smith, Diddy, Eddie Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Hamm have all been floating around, a male lead has yet to be cast.

Producer Jon Peters, who produced the 1976 rock musical version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, is also among the producers of the fourth take on the famous romantic drama about a love affair between an alcoholic star on the way down, and a young female artist on the rise. Beyoncé played a similar role in 2006’s Dreamgirls.

The film J. Edgar, starring DiCaprio and Naomi Watts, will be released in theaters on December 14. In August, the actor will begin filming Baz Lurhman’s 3D adaptation of the F.Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby, co-staring Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.
