Time to Shine with Heidi Klum

German supermodel unveils fragrance campaign.

German supermodel, designer, and television host, Heidi Klum has recently unveiled her advertising campaign for her new fragrance Shine, reports Coco Perez.

The former Victoria’s Secret model, now host of the popular Project Runway TV show, said she did not want her image overly retouched, which is common in beauty ads.

"You can sell a dream, and you can sell a lifestyle that a woman aspires to have, but you can’t completely trick her,” said the 38-year-old mother of three.

“If people retouch me too much, I get upset – yes, you can help me out a little here and there, but don’t go overboard. I have one tooth that’s longer than another, and if you look at the [Shine] ad my snaggletooth is coming out a little bit, but I like that."

Three perfumers from Givaudan, Aurelien Guichard, Jean Guichard and Olivier Pescheux, had a hand in creating the oriental–floral scent, which opens with notes of mandarin, pink pepper and pear. The heart contains mimosa absolut, lily of the valley and sunflower. The base is composed of vanilla, tonka beans from Venezuela and Cosmone musk.

“There are different moods that as a fragrance creator you can travel to. But for my first one, I wanted what I felt my staple would be. I wanted it to be sensual and feminine, but still luxurious and expensive-smelling—because I think there are so many perfumes out there that smell cheap and too sweet,” Klum told WWD.

While this is the beauty’s first fragrance in collaboration with Coty, beginning in 2002, Klum launched of a series of three perfumes through German company LR, Heidi Klum, Heidi Klum Dreams, and Heidi Klum Me.

This September, Heidi Klum Shine will be available in 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette, priced from $17 to $35.
