Smell like a rock star

Azzaro launches Decibel fragrance for men.

This September, Parisian perfumer Azzaro is launching Decibel, a new musically-inspired fragrance for men, reports Vogue.

The perfume is packaged in a unique bottle that looks like a microphone, with a tapered black glass body and a grey mesh-styled spray-cap marked with a small dB logo on the front and the word Decibel on the back.

The scent itself has top notes of aldehydes, licorice and lemon, with a violet and incense heart and base notes of vetiver, tonka and vanilla.

Fittingly for a rock ‘n’ roll fragrance, Azzaro has chosen The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas as the perfume’s first spokesperson. Along with starring in the first series of ads, Casablancas has reportedly composed a song for the upcoming campaign.

The first print ad has already surfaced online, depicting Casablancas – dressed in a shiny jacket and tight leather pants – body-surfing on a crowd of adoring fans, who reach out desperately towards the rock star, wanting to be one of the lucky ones who gets to touch or even hold him up.

The perfume will be available in September and 25, 50 and 100 mL eau de toilette, in addition to a line of grooming products that include deodorant, body spray, body wash, and shampoo.
