Avenged Sevenfold descends on Quebec

California rockers confirmed to play summer festival.

California hard rock band Avenged Sevenfold will perform at the Festival d’été de Québec (Quebec Summer Festival) next month, joining Elton John and Metallica as headliners for the massive music festival in Quebec City, reports Le Soleil.

The American rockers will take the stage on July 14 as part of Canada’s biggest outdoor artistic event. Festival officials also announced that Aaron Neville will open for Elton John on July 9 and The Sheepdogs and Andrew Cole will open for John Fogerty on July 17.

"These artists are right in line with our choices for this year’s programming, which includes rock superstars, big names in R&B and new southern rock talent," said programming director Dominique Goulet.

The huge festival runs for ten days – from July 7-17 – on twelve different indoor and outdoor stages. According to the festival website, thousands of single-day passes are still available, although the Elton John and Metallica concerts have already sold out.
