Cruise the Seine outside of Paris

French city’s suburban regions offer two thematic tours this summer.

This summer, two suburban regions near Paris are offering informative cruises along the Seine, giving visitors to the French capital an opportunity to explore more of the country, reports Routard.

Part of the capital’s Petite Couronne ("little crown"), the two regions, Seine-Saint-Denis and Hauts-de Seine, have joined together to offer two thematic cruises, with eight departures daily between June 25 to July 10.

The first cruise explores the world of French art and cinema, taking visitors on a journey through the Studios d’Epinay film studio, and following in the footsteps of the Impressionist painters Vincent Van Gogh, Gustave Caillebotte and Alfred Sisley.

The second cruise focuses on the region’s industrial past. Visitors can explore the area’s history of shipbuilding and see how facilities were constructed to provide electricity and waste management to the city.

The tourism websites for Seine-Saint-Denis and Hauts-de Seine offer more information on the cruises and can be used to reserve tickets.
