Green Day working on new songs

Singer Billie Joe Armstrong says group is "jamming new songs everyday."

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong revealed onTwitter that the band is currently working on a lot of new songs and jamming every day, reports Gibson.

"Ok here’s the scoop," the punk rocker wrote yesterday (May 31). "GD has been jamming new songs everyday. There’s a ton of new songs. The direction is fresh and hi energy. Feels great."

The band has yet to announce a new album, but these tunes are likely destined for a follow-up to 2009’s rock opera 21st Century Breakdown, Green Day’s last studio album.

"I don’t want to give away too much but just know that me, Mike [Dirnt, bassist], Tre [Cool, drums] and Jason [White, guitarist] are collaborating and having the best time playing music," the singer added. "And that’s not bullsh–!!"

The band released a live album, Awesome as F—, earlier this year, but have yet to announce when they plan to release their next studio album.
