First images from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Trailer for the American version of bestselling Millennium series now online.

This weekend, a movie trailer for the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on the bestselling Swedish Millenium series, appeared online.

Directed by David Fincher (Fight Club), the U.S. remake is set to open in theaters December 21, and the trailer teases: “She’s Coming,” and bills itself, “The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas.”

The unofficial video gives viewers a preview of images from the popular crime thriller set to a pounding cover version of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song by Trent Reznor and Karen O.

Daniel Craig plays the role of journalist Mikhail Blomkvist, and Rooney Mara plays the goth hacker Lisbeth Salander, and together they are hired by the wealthy patriarch  (Christopher Plummer) of the Vanger family to solve a murder dating back 40 years. Through their research, they uncover some dark family secrets.

Based on the novels by Stieg Larsson, the Swedish version of the trilogy was a huge box office success, and soon fans will get to see the Hollywood interpretation.
