Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reteam for football comedy

The Other Guys play rivals in The Turkey Bowl.

After pairing up in last year’s cop comedy The Other Guys, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will be co-starring together again – this time as rivals in upcoming sports comedy The Turkey Bowl, reports Deadline.

The film centers around two football-obsessed American towns that compete for bragging rights in an annual, over-the-top tackle football game. Ferrell and Wahlberg will feature as the leaders of the opposing teams.

Major cameos are expected for the match itself – similar to the broadcaster gang fights in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy – and Alec Baldwin has already signed on to play Wahlberg’s dad.

The script is currently being drafted by 30 Rock writer Robert Carlock and Friends writer Scott Silveri. Ferrell and Wahlberg will co-produce along with The Other Guys director Adam McKay.

No release date has been confirmed, although considering the film’s title, it can likely be expected some time around American Thanksgiving in November – "Turkey Bowl" being a common name for informal backyard matches played on the holiday.
