Wearing a gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress, Pippa Middleton made quite an impression at the royal wedding of her sister Kate and Prince William.
The day after the big event, Pippa was photographed as she left a London hotel, wearing a stylish royal blue blazer, white pants, cream blouse, and carrying a grey Modalu ‘Bristol’ handbag.
Since the photos were published, demand for the handbag skyrocketed, and the ‘Bristol’ model was renamed ‘Pippa’ in honor of the middle Middleton child.
“Since she was spotted wearing our best-selling Bristol bag in Shark [grey] it has been manic here at Modalu HQ!” said a statement on the company’s website.
“We sold all our stock of this style within two days! Due to overwhelming customer demand we have re-issued it and are currently making more bags, ready for delivery in June.”
The bag will be available in limited quantities on June 22 and sells for around $225.
“Due to a surge of customer interest, we have decided to re-issue this color and carry it into AW11 [Autumn-Winter 2011], and re-christen it ‘Pippa’ in her honor.”
In discussing of the style of the leather bag, Modalu states they are known for “original designs and luxurious detailing, and both are perfectly captured in Pippa’s chosen style.”
The brand is the brainchild of Norwegian-born designer Marion Muhonen Nilsen, who has a passion for luxurious, yet wearable leather handbags.
“I draw my inspiration from everywhere, anything, past and present references,” said Nilsen in a statement. “… I like to source unique details in street markets in London, New York, Paris and India. I think traveling and the impulses it gives you, is the key ingredient for something special…”
