Mariah Carey keeps anniversary tradition – even in hospital

Pop songstress and Nick Cannon renew wedding vows after birth of their twins.

Even though singer Mariah Carey, 42, and husband Nick Cannon, 30, were in the hospital on Saturday (April 30), the day of their third wedding anniversary, for the birth of their twins, the couple has kept up their tradition of renewing their wedding vows every year, reports People.

This year, Reverend Al Sharpton came to the hospital to help the couple. "I am just leaving Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. She had twins yesterday on their 3rd anniversary. I had prayer with them and the babies,” he Tweeted on Sunday (May1).

"I also conducted the renewal of their vows and the blessing of the newborn twins. Mariah looks great, and the babies are beautiful."

Last week, Cannon, had joked during his radio show saying that he and his wife might be forced to renew their vows in the hospital. Turns out he was right, since Carey gave birth to a son and a daughter on the day of their third wedding anniversary.

Cannon thanked the Reverend Sharpton for coming to the hospital to renew their vows and pray with their children.

"Yep, we just had a wedding in the hospital," he Tweeted on Sunday. "Thank you to @THEREVAL who came all the way to the hospital to renew me and my wife’s vows and pray with our children."

For his part, Sharpton said he was "moved by the sincere spiritual commitment of Mariah and Nick," and added, "They have not let success separate them from God. I am so proud."
